Stray Tour — Part II, The South Island Day 7 – Wellington/Picton to Marahau (Abel Tasman) We awakened early this morning, because we were being picked by at 06:45 by the shuttle to take us to the ferry. (We got ready in whispers and without turning on this lights, because, as you may remember for the previous blog, Chris – the dorm mate, had gotten in very late the previous night.) The morning did not have an auspicious beginning. We arrived at the terminal in plenty of time. As we had been directed, I identified us to the ticketing agent as members of Stray and that we were to pay for our tickets. I was abruptly told that I could wait for our driver to arrive, and that we would give the correct amount of cash to the agent for all the Stray client taking the ferry that morning. I explained that we had been told the they preferred credit cards (and thus did not have the cash), and that I wasn’t sure our driver would be accompanying us that morning. He replied that he had no intention of processing 18 separate credit card charges (silly me, I thought that was his job), and I could step aside and wait until the driver showed up
